It's something I've always wondered. The band consists of 3 British brothers who were born in Isle of Man, England but moved to Manchester when they were kids. They moved to Australia when they were in their 20's and started singing but they are still British since they were born and raised in England to English parents and they have English accents? So why exactly are they considered Australian just because they lived there? The Jimi Hendrix Experience formed his band in UK, we don't consider him British. The Killers and The Pretenders also formed their bands in UK, we don't consider them British. Also, Kylie Minogue has lived here in the UK for years but we don't consider her English because she was born and raised in Australia so she's Australian. Why do Australians always claim British bands as there's? (Also, most of AC/DC are Scottish and English, they only have one Australian drummer). And The Bee Gees probably got their ideas from British invasion bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, The Police, Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Pet Shop Boys, Iron Maiden, David Bowie, Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, The Kinks, The Animals, etc... Also, another thing, The Beatles are English but Americans sometimes say "Well, they probably stole their ideas from Buddy Holly and have American influences so I consider them American" they also say that Adele, Amy Winehouse, Florence and the Machine and Duffy who are all English try and copy American soul singers so they are apperently American too. Imagine how many bands from the British Invasion inspired American musicians today, we don't consider them British though. We don't need to claim other countries bands as ours though, we already have too many good bands, including Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, Muse, The Verve, Kasabian, etc..., not to mention the oldies but anyways, about the Bee Gees, since they were born in UK, they are British, end of story....
